Terms of Use
Effective 2026-09-28
1. Who we are
MyDoc Korea is a foreign patient facilitator (외국인환자 유치사업자) registered in the Republic of Korea under the Medical Overseas Expansion Act. These Terms apply when you use mydockorea.com or our facilitation services. By sending us an inquiry you confirm that you have read and accept them.

2. What we do — and what we don't
We help international patients plan medical visits to Korea. Our services can include:
- general information about treatments and medical institutions in Korea;
- introducing you to registered partner medical institutions and arranging consultations and appointments;
- interpretation, transport, accommodation and travel assistance, and coordination of aftercare.
We are not a hospital or clinic. We do not diagnose, treat or give medical advice, and our staff are not acting as your doctors. Anything our coordinators tell you is general information. Only a licensed physician who has examined you can decide whether a treatment is suitable for you.
3. Who can use our services
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into agreements.
- Korean law lets facilitators assist only international patients who do not live in Korea. We cannot arrange treatment for Korean nationals, or for foreign nationals who hold a Korean alien registration (other than a G-1 visa) or a domestic residence report. Please tell us if this applies to you.
- You must give us accurate information and use the website lawfully.
4. Your medical treatment is provided by the medical institution
Treatment is provided by independent medical institutions licensed in Korea and registered to treat international patients. The treating institution and its physicians — not MyDoc Korea — are responsible for:
- examination, diagnosis and deciding whether a treatment is appropriate for you;
- explaining the risks, alternatives and expected recovery, and obtaining your informed consent (you will sign the institution's own consent forms — read them carefully);
- performing the treatment, its results and complications, and aftercare;
- your medical records, which the institution keeps under the Korean Medical Service Act.
Every medical procedure carries risks. Results vary from person to person and no outcome is guaranteed. Complications may require further treatment, time in Korea and cost. Please tell the physician about your full medical history and follow their instructions.
5. Information, images and prices on our website
- Website content is general information, not medical advice, and may not reflect the latest medical practice.
- Images are illustrative and do not show results you will achieve.
- Prices are estimates for reference only, usually in US dollars. The treating institution sets the final price after your consultation; tests, anaesthesia, medication, garments, revisions, currency changes and taxes can change it.
6. Fees
Our coordination services are free of charge to patients unless we agree otherwise with you in writing before you pay anything. We may receive a facilitation fee from partner medical institutions, within the limits Korean law sets. You pay for treatment directly to the medical institution. If you buy a separate paid service from us, we will give you the price and the cancellation and refund terms in writing before you pay.
7. Bookings, cancellations and refunds
Deposits, cancellations and refunds for treatment are governed by the policy of the medical institution, and those for flights, hotels and transport by the policies of those providers. We will help you communicate with them, but we are not responsible for their decisions unless a loss was caused by our own fault.
8. Travel, visas and insurance
- You are responsible for your passport, visa, flights and compliance with entry rules.
- We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers medical complications and repatriation; your home health insurance may not cover treatment abroad.
- Plan enough time in Korea for recovery and follow-up visits as your physician advises, and ask your physician when it is safe to fly.
9. Other providers
Medical institutions, hotels, transport companies, independent interpreters and messaging services (such as WhatsApp, LINE or WeChat) are independent of us, and their own terms apply to you. We choose partners carefully but do not control how they provide their services.
10. Our liability
We provide our facilitation services with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for the medical services, their outcomes or complications, which are the treating institution's responsibility, for the acts of other independent providers, or for indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability or consumer right that cannot be excluded under applicable law — including the Korean Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions and the consumer guarantees of the Australian Consumer Law.
11. Complaints and disputes
- Please contact us first — we try to resolve complaints within 14 days.
- Disputes about medical treatment are between you and the treating institution. You can apply to the Korea Medical Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Agency (k-medi.or.kr), which also handles cases for international patients.
- You can also contact the Korea Consumer Agency (kca.go.kr) or the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, which oversees foreign patient facilitation (khidi.or.kr).
12. Law and courts
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes go to the court with jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act. This does not take away any protection you have under the mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence, or your right to bring proceedings where those laws allow.
13. Content, privacy and changes
- Website content belongs to MyDoc Korea or its licensors and may not be copied for commercial use without permission.
- How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
- We announce changes to these Terms on this page at least 7 days before they take effect (30 days for changes that are unfavourable to you).
